If you had sons would you allow them to play with dolls? Why or why not?
I think I would let my sons play with dolls if they want to because boys and girls should be equal and young children like the writers don't need to only like toys that there own genders play with. When children are around 2-4 it doesn't really matter if girls like boy games and/or toys like Cars and Toy Story and if boys like girls games like Dora and Barbie or My Little Pony. But depending on the toy I might not let my sons play with girl toys.
When my son would get older I probably wouldn't let them play with dolls because of bullying, the other kids might bully them because they like girl things.
one time when I was at my friend Alisha's house her her younger brother Colby wanted to play with us and play with my (Pink!) skipping rope and I said ok because I didn't think it was strange for a boy to want to skip.Boys/Men skip for training for boxing!.
Why is it fine for girls to play with cars and not boys with dolls?
I think people think it's fine if a girl plays with cars because cars aren't really manly or boyish because girls drive cars and because if a girl wears something green or a colour boys wear a lot it doesn't mean anything but if a boy wears a pink shirt or purple shirt people don't like it.It shouldn't matter what colour of clothes a little kid is wearing!.
I think people think that a boy shouldn't play with dolls because dolls/barbies because they think its too girly and feminime for a boy and they think that boys shouldn't play with girly stuff.I think people also don't want their sons or want to allow their sons to play with dolls because they think the other kids will make fun of them and bully them.
Why is the mom so confused and upset about this?
I think the mom is confused and upset about this because she thinks her son should be able to play with dolls and her husband doesn't think so and she doesn't know what to do.The mother wants to make her child happy but she thinks other parents won't want her to do that and thinks other boys will make fun of him.She doesn't know what to say to her son if she doesn't want to buy him something girly and she doesn't want to disappoint him at all but she didn't want to get the doll and she didn't want to tell her son " No those dolls are for girls not boys! ".
